BOOK 7 PACE 383 <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD <br />OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY <br />Monday, November 3rd, 1969 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, convened in the Commissioner's Room of the County Office <br />Building at the corner of Steele and Wicker Streets in the City of Sanford, at <br />10:00 o'clock in the forenoon, on November 3rd, 1969. Those present were <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer, Commissioners A. E. White, Perry White, <br />Franklin D. Wicker, Gordon A. Wicker. None of the Commissioners was <br />absent. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />Mr. William B. Joyce, member of the North Carolina State <br />Highway Commission, appeared before the Board and discussed the status of <br />the road program. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker requested that a study <br />be made to determine where new roads were needed in the County. Commissioner <br />Joyce reported he was having an investigation made of the railroad crossing in <br />the Beaver'Creek Community and that he would prepare a priority list of improve- <br />ments for consideration by the Board. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the follow- <br />ing resolution with respect to Secondary Road No. 1364, known as Arlington <br />Circle: <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners <br />of the County of Lee has investigated the condition of the <br />above described road which is now a part of the system <br />of roads maintained by the State Highway Commission, <br />and which is indicated in red on the attached map; and <br />WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the <br />services rendered by said road and the traffic demands <br />of said county, it is deemed necessary that said road be <br />improved in order to better serve the interests of the <br />people of this county. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, and the Board <br />of County Commissioners hereby approved and request <br />that the State Highway Commission make the following <br />improvements in the above described road: Paved <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />i, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adotpion of the <br />following resolution with respect to Secondary Road No. 1408, known as Webb <br />Street: <br />
