BOOR 7 PAcF396 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY <br />Monday, January 5th, 1970 <br />, m>R=k X'n ;:fin ~ m~"rX n m mme n=X=X=yF X~X; X'mn n n:X=%$>k <br />The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, <br />North Carolina, convened at 10 o'clock a. m., on Monday, January 5th, 1970, <br />in the Commissioners' Room of the Lee County Office Building at the corner of <br />Steele and Wicker Streets in the City of Sanford. Those present were Chairman <br />John E. Dotterer and Commissioners A. E. White, Perry White, Franklin D. <br />Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker. None of the Commissioners was absent. <br />Chairman John E. Dotterer presided and the following business was transacted: <br />The minutes of the Regular Meeting held on Monday, December 1, 1969, <br />were approved and ordered recorded. <br />. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker reported on the meeting of the Sandhill <br />Community Action Program and his inquiry about the funds available for the work <br />with the Golden Age Clubs. <br />Commissioner A. E. White moved that the matter of the Golden Age Clubs <br />and similar programs be referred to the Department of Social Services to incor- <br />porate such activities within the overall program of the Department of Social <br />Services and to request the Department of Social Services to pay Mrs. Mildred <br />Caster the sum of $99. 00, for services rendered to that program. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Perry White reported that Dr. James Hulin was willing to <br />serve on the Board of Directors of the Comprehensive Planning Council, which <br />is operated in conjunction with Chatham, Harnett and Sampson Counties. <br />Commissioner Gordon Wicker moved that Dr. Hulin be appointed to fill <br />the vacancy created by the resignation of Dr. Charles Edrington. Commissioner <br />A. E. White seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />The monthly bills were distributed and reviewed by the members of the <br />Board and upon motion of Commmissioner Gordon Wicker, seconded by Comm- <br />issioner Franklin D. Wicker, it was unanimously RESOLVED to pay the monthly <br />bills as tabulated by the County Accountant. <br />The Chairman reported that notes of appreciation had been received from <br />various county employees with respect to the fruit baskets which were presented <br />to the Lee County employees at Christmas. <br />
