C�'Ulo 19 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />HONORING LINEMEN SERVICING IN LEE COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, lineman are often first responders during storms and other catastrophic <br />events, working to make the scene safe for other public safety heroes; and, <br />WHEREAS, linemen work with thousands of volts of electricity high atop power lines <br />twenty-four hours a day, three hundred and sixty-five days a year, to keep electricity <br />flowing; and, <br />WHEREAS, linemen must often work under dangerous conditions far from their families <br />to construct and maintain the energy infrastructure of the United States in the process of <br />assisting our neighbors in their time of need; and, <br />WHEREAS, linemen work holidays, weekends, and late into the night to meet the needs <br />of our citizens when they are without power; and, <br />WHEREAS, linemen put their lives in jeopardy every day with little recognition from the <br />community regarding the danger of their work. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the Lee County Board of Commissioners does hereby proclaim <br />April 18, 2016, as <br />LINEMEN APPRECIATION DAY <br />in the County of Lee and wishes to thank the linemen of Central Electric Membership <br />Cooperative, Duke Energy, and Lee Electric for all they do for our citizens. <br />Adopted by the Board of Commissioners on April 4, 2016. <br />ATTEST: <br />a n II M.
