LEE <br />COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />HONORING LEE COUNTY ATTORNEY KERRY A. SELF <br />WHEREAS, under North Carolina General Statute 153A-114 every board of county <br />commissioners in North Carolina must appoint an attorney to be its legal advisor; and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of County Commissioners hired Kerry A. Schmid (Self) to <br />work in the Lee County Attorney's office, serving under Interim County Attorney Neil Yarborough <br />until her North Carolina Law License application was approved by the North Carolina Bar, on <br />November 19, 2012; and <br />WHEREAS, Kerry Self received her North Carolina Law License and was sworn into office on <br />April 24, 2014, by Judge C. Winston Gilchrist in Lillington, North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, Kerry Self was appointed Lee County Attorney effective May 5, 2014; and <br />WHEREAS, Kerry Self submitted her letter of resignation to the Lee County Board of County <br />Commissioners on January 19, 2016, to be effective April 1, 2016, due to her husband's <br />employment relocation; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Lee County Board of Commissioners to express its <br />appreciation to Ms. Self for her dedicated service and contributions to Lee County over the past <br />three years. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, North <br />Carolina, that it wishes Ms. Self continued success in all her future endeavors <br />Adopted and presented this 21St day of March 2016. <br />A EST: <br />ay , el M.
