d0/ -- --�s-" <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />PROCLAMATION <br />Declaring December 1, 2015 As Oscar Keller Day <br />WHEREAS, Oscar Keller moved to Lee County as a child, and since that time has made his <br />home in Lee County, raised his family here, and built a legacy of service to the community; and, <br />WHEREAS, in addition to Keller's contributions to Lee County in health care, banking, and <br />transportation, he also played an integral role as a benefactor and supporter during the <br />establishment of Central Carolina Community College; and, <br />WHEREAS, in 1988, Keller gave the first monetary gift to the Central Carolina Community <br />College Foundation, and further served the College as a founding board member of the <br />Foundation; and, <br />WHEREAS, since that time Mr. Keller has continued to provide financial support to the <br />Foundation through gifts to his family's endowment, the Central Carolina Works campaign, the <br />Have a Seat campaign, and to other various college needs; and, <br />WHEREAS, in addition to financial contributions, Mr. Keller also supports the College through <br />his tireless promotion of its educational opportunities for Lee County residents; and, <br />WHEREAS, as a pioneer in the healthcare industry, Mr. Keller took every opportunity to extend <br />his service to the College by employing Central Carolina Community College nursing graduates. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lee County Board of Commissioners does <br />hereby recognize Mr. Oscar Keller for his service to Lee County and Central Carolina <br />Community College. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the first day of December 2015 will be recognized as OSCAR <br />KELLER DAY in Lee County, North Carolina. <br />Adopted this 161 day of November 2015. <br />ATT ST: <br />,^taynell .
