i MINUTES OF ADJOURNED .REGULAR MEETING OF BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA. Monday, April 17, 1972 The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, convened at the Commissioners' room in the County Office Building, corner of Steele Street and Wicker Street, Sanford,* North Carolina, on Monday, April 17th, 1972, at 9:30 o'clock a. m. , the same being the time, date and place specified in the motion of adjournment. Those present were: Commissioners William H. Cooper, J. Eugene Rogers, Perry White, Gordon A. Wicker, and Franklin D. Wicker. None of the Commissioners was. absent. Chair- man Franklin D. Wicker presided and the following business was transacted. The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, April. 4th, 1972, were considered and approved upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, seconded by Commissioner William H. Cooper; unanimously adopted. Commissioner William H. Cooper moved the adoption of the following resolution requesting improvement of Secondary Road No. 1303: WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee has investigated the condition of the above-described road which is now a part of the system of roads-maintained by the State High- way Commission, and which is indicated'•in red on the attached map; and WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services rendered by said road and thr traffic demands of said,county, it 'is deemed necessary that, said road be improved in order to better serve the interests of the people of this county. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved, and'the Board of County Commissioners hereby approved and request that the State Highway Comm- ission make the following improvements in the above described road: Re-surfaced. Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner William H. Cooper moved the adoption of the following resolution requesting that Shoreline Drive, north and south, in Carbonton Heights Subdivision, be added to the State Maintained Second Road System: WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the . Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the addition of roads to the System. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, that the State Highway Comm- ission is hereby requested to review the above described road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets established stand- ards and criteria.
