MOK 8 PACE 131 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, October 2, 1972 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee <br />County, North Carolina, convened on Monday, October 2nd, 1972, in the <br />Commissioners' Room of the County Office Building, at the corner of Steele <br />Street and Wicker Street in the City of Sanford. Those present were: <br />Commissioners W. H. Cooper, J. Eugene Rogers, Perry White, Gordon A. <br />Wicker and Chairman Franklin D. Wicker. County Manager Robert Harris <br />was also present. Chairman Franklin D. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The Pastor of Euphronia Presbyterian Church gave the invocation. <br />The minutes of the meeting held on September 18th, 1972, were <br />approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Cooper, second- <br />ed by Commissioner Rogers, which was unanimously adopted, upon a vote. <br />Mr. Jesse White, appeared on behalf of Mr. Cooper Winstead <br />and himself and requested that the paved roads in St. Andrews Subdivision, <br />Sections 2 and 3, be taken over maintenance. Commissioner Cooper moved <br />that the roads be added to the State Maintained Secondary Road System. The <br />resolution is as follows: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been <br />filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County <br />of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the location <br />of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be <br />added to the Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners <br />is of the opinion that the above described road should be added <br />to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum <br />standards and criteria established by the State Highway Comm- <br />ission for the addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board <br />of County Commissioners of the County of Lee that the State <br />Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the above <br />described road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it <br />meets established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner Rogers seconded the motion and upon a vote it <br />was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner W. H. Cooper presented the following resolution <br />and moved that it be adopted: <br />WHEREAS, the bond orders hereinafter described <br />have taken effect and the Board of Commissioners desires to <br />make provision for the issuance of a portion of the bonds auth- <br />orized by said bond orders; NOW, THEREFORE, <br />BE IT RESOLVEDby the Board of Commissioners <br />of the County of Lee, as follows: <br />(1) The County of Lee (hereinafter referred to <br />as "County") shall issue its bonds of the aggregate principal <br />
