F• <br />- ~ s <br />900K 8 4U, 14'4' - <br />MINUTES OF ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, November 20th; 1972 <br />The Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of Lee, convened at the Commissioners' room in the County <br />Office Building, corner of Steele Street and Wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, on Monday, November 20, 1972, at 9:30 o'clock a. m., the same <br />being the time,.date and place specified in the motion of adjournment. Those <br />present were: Commissioners William H. Cooper, Perry White, Gordon A. <br />Wicker and Franklin D. Wicker. Commissioner _ . Eugene Rogers was absent <br />when the meeting was called to order. Chairman Franklin D. Wicker presided <br />and the following, business was transacted: <br />County Manager Robert Harris was also present. <br />The minutes of the Regular Meeting held on Monday, November 6, <br />1972, were considered and approved' upon motion of Commissioner White, <br />seconded by Commissioner Cooper, which motion was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner J..Eugene Rogers joined the meeting and participated <br />in the further deliberations of the Board. <br />Mr. Robert Henshaw, from the Central office of the Department <br />of Natural and Economic Resources appeared before the Board and discussed <br />the possibility of the,County again participating in a planning program and ob- <br />taining a Federal Grant to aid in financing the project. The Commissioners <br />authorized the State Officials to conduct a- reconnaissance survey and requested <br />that they meet.with'them at the regular meeting on January 2, 1973. <br />Commissioner Rogers inquired about the status of the activities - <br />concerning the polution report made by the Grand jury at a recent Criminal <br />Session. It was the Board's understanding that corrective action has been <br />taken and has been reported to the State Board of Water and Air Resources and <br />approved by them. <br />The Chairman announced that the time had arrived to open the <br />bids received for installation of water and sewer lines.
