�')0;�_3? <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />RESOLUTION <br />HONORING KEN D. ARMSTRONG <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong is a native of Daytona Beach, Florida; and <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong took the position of Executive Director of the Sanford Housing Authority in <br />October 2002; and <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong moved to Sanford, North Carolina, from Florida where he was employed for <br />19 years with the Ormond Beach Housing Authority, 10 years of which he served as Executive Director; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong oversees all management and operations for the Sanford Housing Authority <br />which provides safe and affordable housing to all eligible persons and provides residents with assistance <br />in becoming self-sufficient and first time homeowners; and <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong has been instrumental in modernizing 450 Housing Authority units and the <br />building of an additional 110 units, along with implementing the Home Ownership Program; and <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong actively helped recruit a Boys & Girls Club facility next to one of the Section 8 <br />Housing sites; and <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong is married and the father of two daughters; and <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong and his wife will be moving to Gainesville Florida in mid-November where he <br />will be taking the position of Executive Director for the Alachua County Housing Authority; and <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong's years of service have been marked by exemplary dedication to the City of <br />Sanford, County of Lee, and all those he has come into contact with; and <br />WHEREAS, Ken Armstrong has earned the admiration and high regard of those with whom he came into <br />contact and the affection of his fellow staff, who were proud to consider him part of the team. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Lee County Board of Commissioners does hereby wish <br />to express its sincere appreciation and thanks for the accomplishments of Ken Armstrong and his service <br />to Sanford and Lee County. <br />of November 2014. <br />Robert T.
