_ I 0 BOOK 8 PAGE 201 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA Monday, April 2nd, 1973 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County Office Building at the corner of Steele and Wicker Streets in the City of Sanford, at 9:30 o'clock a. m. , on Monday, April 2nd, 1973. Commissioners Hal L. Hancock, J. Eugene Rogers, Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker were present. Comm- issioner William H. Cooper was absent. Chairman Gordon A. Wicker pre- sided and the following business was transacted: Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the Chairman be authorized to have specifications prepared for the addition to the Public Health Building without engaging the services of an Architect. Commissioner Hancock seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Messrs. Hancock, Rogers, F. Wicker and G. Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. The Commissioners designated funds for this project to come from the Revenue Sharing Fund when and if it was necessary to appropriate funds for the expenses incurred. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker reported on the Manpower Program. Commissioner Wicker explained that if the County had, 55 slots all.oted we could run our own program but since we do not have that many slots it is necessary that we combine with another County and for this reason he moved that the Board designate the North Carolina Security Commission to be the spon- soring program for the Manpower Program for Lee County. Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Gordon Wicker stated that the time had arrived for openin g bids for the furnit ure to go into the Co mmissioners' Meeting Room.
