_ I 0 <br />BOOK 8 PAGE 201 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE <br />COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />Monday, April 2nd, 1973 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners' <br />Room on the second floor of the County Office Building at the corner of <br />Steele and Wicker Streets in the City of Sanford, at 9:30 o'clock a. m. , on <br />Monday, April 2nd, 1973. Commissioners Hal L. Hancock, J. Eugene <br />Rogers, Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker were present. Comm- <br />issioner William H. Cooper was absent. Chairman Gordon A. Wicker pre- <br />sided and the following business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the Chairman be <br />authorized to have specifications prepared for the addition to the Public <br />Health Building without engaging the services of an Architect. Commissioner <br />Hancock seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Messrs. Hancock, <br />Rogers, F. Wicker and G. Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />The Commissioners designated funds for this project to come from the Revenue <br />Sharing Fund when and if it was necessary to appropriate funds for the expenses <br />incurred. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker reported on the Manpower <br />Program. Commissioner Wicker explained that if the County had, 55 slots all.oted <br />we could run our own program but since we do not have that many slots it is <br />necessary that we combine with another County and for this reason he moved <br />that the Board designate the North Carolina Security Commission to be the spon- <br />soring program for the Manpower Program for Lee County.
