I <br /> <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, November: 5, 1973 <br />The' regular meeting of the'Board.of Commissioners <br />for Lee County.,: convened in the.Commissioners' Room of-the <br />Lee County: Office Building, at the corner of Steele and <br />Wicker Stree'ts,in Sanford, North'Carolina, at 9:.30 o'clock <br />A. M., on Monday, November. 5, 1973. Those present were <br />Commissioners Hal L. Hancock, J. Eugene Rogers, Franklin <br />D. Wicker, and Gordon'A. Wicker. Commissioner William H. <br />Cooper was absent... The Chairman declared a quorum present, <br />and the meeting opened for business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Rev. Bob Sheppard. <br />The monthly statements',as tabulated-by. the,Coiinty. <br />Accountant were distributed for consideration by: the <br />Co'mmissioners.' <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, <br />October.15, 1973, were considered and amended and upon <br />motion made by'Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers, seconded by <br />Commissioner Hal L. Hancock and unanimously adopted, it was <br />resolved to adopt.the'minutes as and for the minutes of said <br />meeting and same were ordered recorded. <br />Copies of the written report by'Sheriff`D: F; Holder <br />on the 'activities of his department were distributed to the <br />members of the Board. <br />The Chairman advised the Board that notice had <br />been received from the Secondary Roads Council of the . <br />Department of Transportation that Pine Line Drive (801 ft.), <br />Woodside Drive (1,198 ft.), and Hunt Springs 'Drive (1,320 ft.) <br />have been added to.the state-maintained Secondary Road System. <br />The Chairman presented a petition requesting that <br />the-streets in the St. Andrews Subdivision be added to'.the <br />State Secondary Road System. The petition was circulated <br />among the Board members for their consideration at this time. <br />. The Chairman read to the Board a letter.from the <br />Directors of the Lee County Hospital Trustees setting forth <br />their recommendations for appointments. This matter was <br />taken-under advisement. <br />The Chairman advised the Board that the Public <br />Health Department would have a meeting on November 14, 1913, <br />`at 6:45 o'clock P. M., and invited other members of the <br />Board to attend the meeting with him. <br />
