BOOK ® PAC€ 320 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR THE <br />,COUNTY OF LEE,..NORTH.CAROLINA..... <br />Monday, January 21,.19741 <br />_ <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, <br />North Carolina, convened in the Commissioner's Room on the second floor of <br />the County Office Building, at the corner of Steele and Wicker Streets in the <br />City of Sanford, at 7:00 o'clock p, m., on Monday, January 21, 1974. Those <br />present were Commissioners William H. Cooper, Hal L. Hancock, J. Eugene <br />Rogers, Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker. None of the Commissioners <br />were absent. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for <br />the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on Monday, January 7, 1974, <br />were presented to the Board and reviewed. The minutes were amended and as <br />amended were approved for recordation and ordered filed. <br />The monthly statements as listed by the finance officer were presented <br />to the Board and considered. Upon motion of Commissioner Hancock, seconded <br />by Commissioner Cooper, the Board unanimously resolved to approve the payment <br />of these bills. <br />Commissioner Hal L. Hancock moved that the bill of Sanford Produce <br />Company, Inc. , be approved for payment in the amount of $1, 080. for <br />Christmas Baskets for County Employees and that the same be paid from the <br />Emergency and Contingency Fund. Commissioner William H. Cooper seconded <br />the motion and upon'a 'roll call vote, it was unanimously adopted. Messrs. <br />Cooper, Hancock, Rogers, F. Wicker and G. Wicker all voted for it and no one <br />voted against it. <br />The Chairman called to the attention of the Board that there would be a <br />meeting of the League of Women Voters at the home of Mrs. Paul Howard on <br />January 23rd, to discuss the land management bill. <br />The written request of Mr. Lawrence Rubinosky, for refund of $8. 61 <br />was presented to the Board . The request had been investigated by the Tax <br />Supervisor and it appeared that through error, Mr. Rubinosky's land in Harnett <br />County was picked up on the Lee County books and that the refund was in order. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper moved that the Tax Collector be authorized and <br />directed to refund to Mr. Lawrence Rubinosky, the sum of $8. 61. Commissioner <br />Hal L. Hancock seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Messrs. Cooper, <br />Hancock, Rogers, F. Wicker and G. Wicker all voted for it and no one voted <br />against it. <br />
