The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. .Chairman Gordon A. The.Board took notice of the. fact that the Little Tar Heel League Team from Sanford coached by Messrs. Mack. Spivey and Wallace High had won the State:.Championship and offered their. congratulations to.the team and its: coaches:. Chairman Gordon A. Wicker reported on the. :efforts. made -to.secure.folding guard doors to go on the elevator shaft openings. .The Chairman announced that a letter had been received from the Sanford-Lee: County. Board of Education expressing its appreciation for the, financial support, provided by-the Board of Commissioners. The.County.Finance ;Officer. reported that insurance had been secured on the.Fleming and Oliver property.which had been secured for library purposes in the following amounts.: Oliver. Property.--$20.,.000..00.;. Fleming Property $25.;00.0..00..:. Commissioner. Franklin D. Wicker: moved that the values'.reported by. the Finance ;Officer be :approved. Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers seconded the motion and upon a .vote.,. it was. unanimously adopted. The Chairman announced that 'Mr. Robert Brickhouse had submitted a letter of resignation as a member of the Sanford Planning Board. Mr. Brickhouse'sresignation was accepted with regret,.' upon motion of Commissioner J. Eugene Rogers seconded by Commissioner. Hal L. Hancock which motion was unanimously adopted.
