BOOK 8 PkCE~pc~~MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, April 7th, 1975 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, met in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County <br />Office Building, 201 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, at 9:30 o'clock <br />a. m. , on Monday, April 7.„ 1975. Commissioners William H. Cooper, Hal L. <br />Hancock, Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker were present. Commissioner <br />John E.'Dotterer was absent when the meeting opened. . The Chairman declared <br />a quorum present and the meeting open for'the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />i <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on March 17, 1975, were <br />approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Cooper, seconded <br />by Commissioner Hancock and which motion,was unanimously adopted. <br />There was a discussion about a petition requesting that Globe <br />Street be added to the State System for Maintenance. The petition was approved, <br />upon motion of Commissioner Hancock,' seconded by Commissioner Franklin D. <br />Wicker, which motion was unanimously adopted. <br />The monthly bills as listed by the County Finance Officer <br />were approved for payment upon motion of Commissioner Cooper, seconded by <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, which motion was unanimously adopted. <br />The Revenue Sharing bills were-distributed and discussed. <br />Commissioner John E. Dotterer joinded the meeting and participa- <br />ted~in the further* deliberations of the-Board. <br />The Chairman reported he had received a copy of the letter from <br />Mr. Mizell of the Commerce Department to Congressman Henderson, relating to <br />unemployment in Lee County. It appeared doubtful that Lee County could qualify <br />under the program outlined by the Commerce Department official. <br />The Board proceeded to take bids for an ambulance and the <br />bids received were as follows: <br />Bidder Bid <br />Southern Coach Sales Co. <br />Greensboro, N.
