J <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, October 20, 1975 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee <br />County, North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second <br />floor of the-County Office Building, at the corner of Steele and Wicker Streets <br />in the City of Sanford, on.Moriday, October 20, 1975, at 7:00 o'clock p. in. <br />Those present for the meeting were Commissioners William H. Cooper, John <br />E. Dotterer, Hal L. Hancock, Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A Wicker. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and-the following business was transacted: <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on'October 6, 1975, were <br />approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner William H.. Cooper, <br />seconded'by Commissioner Hal L. Hancock and which motion was unanimously <br />adopted upon a vote. <br />i <br />Commissioner Hal L. Hancock *presented a petition requesting <br />the-addition of Russell Street in Clearwater Forest Subdivision, to the State <br />+g Maintained Secondary Road System. Commissioner Hancock moved the adoption <br />of the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been <br />filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County <br />of Lee requesting that the above described road, the location <br />of which has been indicated in red•onthe attached map, be <br />added to the Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners <br />is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to <br />the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br />and criterial established by the State Highway Commission for the <br />addition of roads to the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board <br />of County Commissioners of the County of Lee:that the State Highway <br />Commission is hereby requested to review the above described <br />road, and to takeover the road for. maintenance if it meets estab- <br />lished standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper seconded the motion and upon a <br />vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Hal L. Hancock presented to the Board a petition <br />requesting that the remainder of the roads in Meadowpark Subdivision be taken <br />over and added to the State Maintained Secondary Road System. After discussion <br />and review of the petition, Commissioner Hancock moved the adoption of the <br />following resolution: <br />
