B;; ; <br />PkG4 536? <br />q <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS. <br />FOR <br />LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, October 6,. 1975 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County' of Lee, met in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the County <br />Office Building, 201 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, at 9:30 o'clock a, m., <br />on Monday, October 6,- 1975. Commis sioners-William .H• Cooper, Hal L. Hancock, <br />Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker were present. Commissioner John E. <br />Dotterer was absent. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting <br />open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker advised the Board that he had checked <br />with Harlan E., Boyles with the Local Government Commission, and that there re- <br />mained an adequate amount of unissued bonds which could be used for the construct- <br />ion of a water tank near the Williams Industrial Park off'U. -S. Highway No. 421. <br />After discussion, Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the firm of Pate- <br />Mullins & Associates, be authorized to complete the plans and specifications for <br />the wager tank and necessary lines and to prepare them for bidding: Commissioner ' <br />William H. 'Cooper seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Commissioners <br />Cooper, .Hancock, Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker all voted for it and <br />no one voted against it. <br />The-Chairman announced there would be a picnic for the County <br />employees on-October 14, 1975, between the hours of twelve o'clock noon and <br />two o'clock p. m. , at the Courthouse as'a part of the County's Bi- Centennial <br />Program. <br />The Chairman announced that a letter had been received from <br />the family of Mrs. Bessie Cooper, acknowledging the expression of sympathy sent <br />in the name of the Board. <br />' The Chairman reported that he had been advised by Mr. Harold <br />McNeill,' official of the City of Sanford, that Mr. W. C. Wilson had resigned as <br />a member of the Sanford Board of Adjustment and that.the Board of Commissioners <br />should name a replacement. Members of the Board considered various parties <br />and then selected an appointee-and authorized Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker <br />to approach their nominee and see if he would be willing to accept the appointment. <br />There was a general discussion about the bonding requirements <br />in the Building Ordinance but 'no formal action was taken. <br />The monthly bills as listed by the County Finance Officer were <br />considered and approved for payment, upon motion of Commissioner William H. <br />Cooper, duly seconded by Commissioner Hal. L. Hancock.and which-motion was <br />unanimously adopted. . <br />
