BooK Fact 563 <br />MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR++. <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Wednesday, December 17, 1975,,, <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />for Lee County, North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on <br />the second floor of the County Office Building in.Sanford, North Carolina, at <br />twelve o'clock noon on Wednesday, December 17, 1975, in accordance with <br />the motion of -adjournment. <br />Commissioners William H. Cooper, John E. Dotterer, Franklin <br />D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker, were present., Commissioner Hal L. Hancock <br />was absent. Chairman Gordon A..Wicker presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />Commissioner William H., Cooper moved the adoption of the follow- <br />ing resolution: <br />BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of <br />Commissioners for Lee County, that persons of low and <br />moderate incomes, as defined by the. applicable Community <br />Development Program regulations, will not be charged <br />assessments or tap-on fees for street improvements and <br />water and sewer lines constructed by Lee County with funds <br />received from the 1976 Community Development Block Grant <br />Program application. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />Mr. Elwin Buchanan, Community Development Program Director, <br />appeared before the Board and reported that the City of Sanford and the Greenwood <br />Water System had entered into 'a contract for the sale and distribution of water <br />and.that he had investigated the low bidder, Shutt Hartman Company, and had <br />received reports that they were capable of performing the work required for the <br />completion of the Lemon Springs water line'. After discussion, Commissioner <br />John E. Dotterer moved that the low bid of Shutt Hartman Company, in the amount <br />of $174, 280. 00, be accepted for the construction of the Lemon Springs water line <br />and that the Chairman and Clerk be authorized to sign the contract for said work. <br />Commissioner William H; Cooper seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, <br />Messrs. Cooper, Dotterer, F. Wicker and. G. Wicker all voted for it and no one <br />voted against it. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />v v A X/ . <br />GORDON' A.
