%~oo li /'A9E 6 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA Monday, April 5th,. 1976 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, at 9`•30'o'clock a. m., on Monday, April 5th, 1976. Those present were Commissioners John E. Dotterer, Hal L. Hancock,. Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner William H. Cooper was absent. a 4 "s Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following`busines was transacted: Mrs. Pattie W. McGilvary appeared before the Board and requested that the Board give 'consideration to stating what the salary of the office of the Register of Deeds would be since the position would be filled'by election this year. Commissioner Dotterer moved that the Board set the salary of the Register of Deeds at $10, 680. 00 per annum beginning as of July 1,' 1976. Commissioner Hal L. Hancock seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. The Board.took under' consideration a petition for the addition to the State System of the Earl Sloan Subdivision Road off N.. C. 42. After examination of the petition and the preliminary investigation report filed by the District Engineer, by the Board, Commissioner Hal L. Hancock moved the adoption of the following resolution with respect to said road: WHEREAS,' the attached petition has been filed with the. Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attach- ed map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commiss- ioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets min- inum standards and criteria established by the State Highway Commission for the addition.of roads to the System. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, that the State Highway Commission is hereby requested to review the above described road, and to take over.the road for main- tenance if it meets established standards and criteria.
