MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE' COUNTY OF LEE; NORTH CAROLINA <br />Tuesday, April ZO, 1976 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, <br />North Carolina,, convened in the Commissioners Room of the County Office <br />Building, 200 Wicker Street; Sanford,. North Carolina, at 7:30 o'clock p. m., <br />on Tuesday, April 20, 1976. Those present when the meeting opened were <br />William H. Cooper, Hal L. Hancock and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioners <br />John E. Dotterer and.Franklin D. Wicker were absent when the meeting opened. <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following business was <br />transacted: <br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker opened the.meeting•with prayer. <br />? 'Representatives of the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad appeared before the <br />Board and explained a change they proposed in serving freight customers in the <br />area of Sanford and Colon. While the Railroad representatives were making their <br />presentation, Commissioners John E. Do.tterer and Franklin D. Wicker joined the <br />meeting and participated in the further. deliberations of the Board. <br />Mr,; Jame's;E.-Coats, Director of the Department of Social Services, <br />.appeared before the Board and requested transfer of funds within his present <br />budget. After discussion, Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the <br />following: transfer of funds within the present budget for Social Services be <br />authorized and approved: <br />1) $600.00 from Contracted Services - Food Stamps to Supplies. <br />2) $250.00 from Contracted Services -.Food Stamps to Equipment. <br />3) $150.00 from Contracted Services - Food Stamps to Contracted Services - <br />Physicians. <br />Commissioner William H. Cooper seconded the motion. and. upon. a roll call <br />vote, Messrs.. Cooper, Dotterer, Hancock,. Franklin D.-Wicker and Gordon A. <br />Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />The Board next proceeded to open-the bids received for the sale of surplus <br />motor vehicles as advertised, and the bids received were as follows: <br />Bidder <br />Bid <br />Item <br />Clayron.A.
