<br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA'
<br />Monday, August 2nd, 1976 .
<br />The `regular meeting of the'Board of Commissioners'for'Lee
<br />County, convened on,Monday,,.August, 2, 1976,, in the Commissioners. room on the
<br />second floor' of'the County Office. Building at 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North
<br />Carolina,, at' 9.:30 o'clock a, m. Those present when the meeting opened were.
<br />Commissioners William H, Cooper, Hal L. Hancock', and Gordon A. Wicker,
<br />Commissioners John E. Dotterer and. Franklin D. Wicker were absent:
<br />Chairman Gordon A. Wicker presided and the following business `
<br />was transacted:
<br />The meeting was 'opened by prayer'given by-Reverend Burton M.
<br />Sherrod, Pastor of.tlie Morpingside Presbyterial Church
<br />The minutes of the meetings :held onJuly ,5, 1976, and July 19, `1976,
<br />were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner W. H. Cooper,
<br />seconded by Commissioner Hal L. Hancock,',which motion was unanimously, adopted
<br />upon a vote,
<br />Mr, Orton J. Cameron, Attorney,' appeared before the Board and
<br />requested that the Board calla public hearing on closing. ,an.unopened and unnamed'
<br />road shown on-map of'Sunset Hills in or near the, community of Northview. After
<br />discussion and review,. Commissioner HalHancock movedthat the following
<br />resolution be adopted:
<br />WHEREAS, G. S. 153A-241'authbrizes the
<br />Board of County Commissioners to close,public roads; and
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners
<br />-considers it advisable,to adopt this resolution setting forth its
<br />intent`to close a portion'of an unopened and unnamed- road
<br />described as follows: .
<br />Being. the northernmostportion of the
<br />unnamed road which :abuts on Lots Nos. 334 through 340,
<br />inclusive, as shown on map entitled "Sunset Hills" and're-
<br />corded in Map Book 4, page 52,. Lee_County Registry, and
<br />being the area which would be north of the northern boundary
<br />if, Nbrthview. Drive as shown on said map were extended to the
<br />line of Lot No'. 326, as shown' on said map.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED-by
<br />the Board of Commissioners. meeting inxegular' session
<br />1. That a public hearing ;k e held at.11:,00 po'clock< _
