soon PACE 756 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS' FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA; - -Tuesday, January 4, 1977 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the.County of Lee, met in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the G,vunty Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford,. North Carolina,. at 9:30 o'clock a. m., on Tuesday, January 4,.1977. Monday, January 3rd, 1977, having been observed as a-County holiday, the meeting was. held on Tuesday,' in accordance with the General Statutes and the resolution of the Board. 'Those present were Commissioners William H., Cooper, John E. Dotterer,. Clyde. J. Rhyne, 'Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman William H. Cooper presided and the following business was transacted: The invocation was given by the Reverend Jack Myers, of the Rocky Fork Christian Church. The minutes of the December. 6, 1976 and December 20, 1976 meetings of the Board were approved and ordered recorded, upon motion of Commissioner Dotterer, seconded by,Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker, which motion was unanimous- ly adopted upon a vote. ' Commissioner Rhyne.presented. a petition requesting that Secondary Road 1306 in Pocket Township, be paved. After, discussion of the petition, Commissione. Rhyne mo'v_ed:the ad6ption,:of the following resolution: WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners 'of the'County'•of•Lee, has investigated the condition of the above described road,` which is now a part of the system of roads main- tained by the Division--of Highways of the Department of Transper- tation,and Highway Safety; and which is indicated in r4-6n the attached map; and. WHEREAS, after careful consideration of the services rendered by said road and the traffic demands of said County, it is deemed necessary that said road be improved in order to better serve the interest of the people of this County. NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT.RESOLVED. and the Board of County Commissioners hereby approve and request that the Division of Highways of the Department of Transportation and Highway Safety make the following improve- ments-in the above described road: Paved. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Rhyne read to the'Board a letter from Mr. Jordan, the Division Engineer, which gave the breakdown on expenditures for the Division of Highways for Lee County for the past year.
