BOOK. hst l ' <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, June 20, 1977 <br />The Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, North <br />Carolina., convened on Monday, June 20, 1977, at 7 o'clock p, m., in the <br />Commissioners Room of the County Office Building, at 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina, Those present were Commissioners William H. <br />Cooper, Clyde J. Rhyne, Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker. Comm- <br />issioner John E. Dotterer was absent when the meeting opened. <br />Chairman William H. Cooper presided and the following business <br />was transacted. <br />The Reverend Bob Shepard, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, <br />pronounced the invocation. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on June 6, 1977, were <br />approved upon motion of Commissioner Rhyne, seconded by Commissioner <br />Franklin D. Wicker, which motion was unanimously adopted. <br />The Board discussed the appointment to be made to the Sanford-Lee <br />County Airport Commission, Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker nominated Mr. <br />Bob Jones to serve on the Airport Commission, There were no other nominations <br />and Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the nominations be closed and <br />Mr. Jones be declared elected by acclamation. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker <br />seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted, <br />The Board next considered the appointment to the County Social <br />Services Board, Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne nominated Commissioner Franklin <br />D. Wicker to serve as the member on the Social Services Board. There were no <br />further nominations and Commissioner Rhyne moved that the nominations be closed <br />and Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker be declared elected by acclamation. Comm- <br />issioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously <br />adopted. <br />The Board next considered the appointments to the County Parks and <br />Recreation Commission, however, no action was taken at this time. <br />The Board next considered appointments to the County Personnel. <br />Board. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne nominated Mr. Jack Dossenbach, Jr., to <br />serve as a member of the County Pers-)nnel Board, Commissioner John E. <br />Dotterer joined the meeting at this point and participated in the further deliberations <br />of the B,>ard. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker moved that the nominations <br />for this position on the County Personnel Board be closed and that Mr. Dossenbach <br />be declared elected by acclamation. Commissioner Rhyne seconded the motion <br />and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />
