Aux 9 ~7;v 500 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, February 6, 1978 <br />The Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, <br />North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room on the second floor of the <br />County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, <br />February 6, 1978, at 9:30 o'clock a. m. Those present when the meeting opened <br />were Commissioners William H. Cooper, John E. Dotterer, Clyde J. Rhyne and <br />Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker was absent when the <br />meeting opened. <br />Chairman William H. Cooper presided and the following business <br />was transacted: <br />Reverend David Early, Associate Minister of the First Baptist <br />Church of Sanford gave the invocation. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on January 16, 1978, were <br />approved upon motion of Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, duly seconded by Comm- <br />issioner John E. Dotterer, which motion was unanimously adopted, upon a vote. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported on road matters. <br />Chairman Cooper reported that Mrs. Hollers, of the Highway <br />Commission, wanted to meet with the Board at 7:30 o'clock p. m. , on Tuesday, <br />February 21 st, and it would be his suggestion to the Board that the regular meeting <br />on Monday, February 20th, be adjourned until that date and time. The Chairman <br />directed that the news media be advised of Mrs. Hollers meeting with the Board. <br />The monthly bills as listed by the County Finance Officer were <br />reviewed and approved for payment upon motion of Commissioner John E. Dotterer, <br />seconded by Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker, which motion was unanimously <br />adopted-upon._ak. vote./ <br />Department reports were distributed to the members of the Board. <br />Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved the adoption of the following <br />resolution pertaining to the application of.the Triangle J Council of Governments <br />for assistance in implementing improvements in Emergency Medical Services: <br />WHEREAS, Lee County is concerned with the pro- <br />vision of health care services to its citizens in general and <br />emergency medical services in particular, and supports the <br />development of a comprehensive regional Emergency Medical <br />Services System, and <br />WHEREAS, the Emergency Medical Services Planning <br />project for HSA IV, conducted under the auspices of the Triangle <br />J Council of Governments and the Kerr-Tar Council of Governments <br />is presenting an application for assistance in implementing improve- <br />ments and development of these services in our county and other <br />counties of HSA IV, and <br />
