MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, March 13, 1978 <br />The adjourned regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners <br />for the County of Lee, convened in the Commissioners' Room on the second <br />floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North'Carolina, <br />at 1:00 o'clock p, m., on Monday, March 13, 1978, the same being the place, time, <br />and date specified in the motion of adjournment. Those present were Commissioners <br />Clyde J. Rhyne, Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker. Commissioners <br />William H. Cooper and John E. Dotterer were absent. <br />Vice-Chairman Franklin D. Wicker presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The bids for a cab and chassis to be used for the solid waste <br />disposal were opened and the bids were. as follows: <br />The Simpson Company 35, 802.00 <br />Carolina Waste Equipment Company 38, 316.00 <br />Holt Truck & Tractor Company 37, 948.00 <br />Alternate bid of The Simpson <br />Company for Mack Truck 37, 654. 60 <br />After review and discussion of the bids, it was concluded that the <br />purchase of the Mack Truck would be more advantageous to the County and Comm- <br />issioner Clyde J. Rhyne moved that the Simpson Company's low bid of $37, 654. 60 <br />be accepted and that funds be appropriated from the Revenue Sharing Funds.for such <br />purchase. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, <br />Commi-ssioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded the motion and upon a vote, Commiss- <br />ioners Clyde J. Rhyne, Franklin D. Wicker and Gordon A. Wicker voted for it and <br />no one voted against it. <br />The bids for a vehicle to be used by Crime Prevention and Juvenile <br />Officer were opened and the bids were as follows: <br />Dowdy Ford, Inc. <br />Lafayette Motor Sales, Inc. <br />5, 478. 79 <br />5,321.34 <br />Commissioner Rhyne moved that the low bid of Lafayette Motor <br />Sales, Inc, for $5, 321. 34 be accepted. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker seconded <br />the motion and upon a roll call vote, Commissioners Clyde J. Rhyne, Gordon A. <br />Wicker and Franklin D. Wicker all voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />
