MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, NORTH CAROLINA J, J, xs:= xx„„ Saturday, May 27th, 1978 A Special Meeting of the Board of Commissioners for Lee County, North Carolina, was held pursuant to the call of the Chairman in the Commissioners Room at the County Office Building, 200'Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, at 2 o'clock p. m., on Saturday, May 27, 1978. Those present were Commissioners John E. Dotterer, William H. Cooper, Clyde J. Rhyne and Franklin D. Wicker. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker was absent. Chairman Cooper announced for the information of the Board that the Forest Ranger, Ms. Sharon G. Albertson had resigned her position. Commissioner Dotterer moved that the sum of $19, 030.00 be appropriated from the Emergency and Contingency Fund to Project 04-11-01450.1, the San-Lee Recreational and Educational Park for construction and project improvements (roads and parking lots only), said funds to be. transferred upon presentation of invoices from the Board of Transportation pursuant to the contract between the Department of Transportation and Lee County for improvements. Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne seconded the motion and upon a vote it was adopted by a majority vote,, wherein Commissioners Dotterer, Rhyne and Cooper voted for it and Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker voted against it. A motion was made by Commissioner John E. Dotterer and seconded by Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne for the adoption of the following resolution, and upon being put to a vote was duly adopted: WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners has requested the Board of Transportation to perform the following highway related work for said Board of Commissioners on a cost reimbursement basis in accordance with the policy established by the State Highway Commission on May 2, 1973, and adopted by the Board of Transportation: Grading and base on two drives and two parking areas and grade, base and pave two drives at the San-Lee Recreation and Educational Park, at Lee County, at an estimated cost of $19, 030. 00. NOW, THEREFORE,. BE AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Chairman of the Lee County Board of Commissioners be and he hereby is authorized and empowered to enter into a contract with the Board of Transportationas may be necessary to effectuate the aforesaid expressed purpose, thereby binding the said County Board of Commissioners to the fulfillment of its obligation incurred under this resolution and to its agreement to pay any amounts that may become due under the agreement on a cost-reimbursement basis until said obligations are fully paid.
