1 -1 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF. <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, October 2nd, 1978 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners room of the <br />County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, at 9:30 <br />o'clock a. m. , on Monday, October 2, 1978. Those present were Commissioners <br />William H. Cooper, John E. Dotterer, Franklin D. Wicker, Gordon A. Wicker <br />and Clyde J. Rhyne. Chairman William H. Cooper presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />Mr. Hal T. Siler gave the invocation. <br />Mr. Billy Ray Cameron appeared before the Board and presented <br />a draft of an OSHA Plan for consideration by the Board. Mr. Cameron stated he <br />would return at the next meeting. <br />The minutes of the regular meeting held on September 18, 1978, <br />were approved and ordered recorded upon motion of Commissioner Gordon A. <br />Wicker, seconded by Commissioner Clyde J. Rhyne, which motion was unanimous- <br />ly adopted upon a vote. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved the adoption of the <br />following resolution with respect to the road known as Oakdale Drive: <br />WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with <br />the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, <br />requesting that the above described road, the location of <br />which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be <br />added to the Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the <br />opinion that the above described road should be added to the <br />Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards <br />and criteria established by the Division of Highways of the <br />Department of Transportation for the addition of roads to <br />the System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of <br />County Commissioners of the County of Lee, that the Division <br />of Highways is hereby requested to review the above described <br />road, and to take over the road for maintenance if it meets <br />established standards and criteria. <br />Commissioner Franklin D. Wicker seconded the motion and upon <br />a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />It was reported to the Board that the petition considered at the <br />September 18, 1978 meeting incorrectly called for improvements on Secondary <br />Road 1146, while it should have stated Secondary Road 1147 In order <br />to correct the action taken, Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the <br />following resolution be adopted as to Secondary Road 1147: <br />
