LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />REQUESTING BOARD OF TRANSPORTATION TO ABANDON <br />A PORTION OF BRUCE COGGINS ROAD (SR 1294) <br />IN <br />LEE COUNTY <br />WHEREAS, Martin Marietta Materials located in Lee County has requested that the Department of <br />Transportation close a portion of Bruce Coggins Road (SR 1294); and <br />WHEREAS, property on both sides of SR 1294 is owned by Martin Marietta Materials; and <br />WHEREAS, the road in question is at the rear property line of the non -owned lot facing Hickory House <br />Road south to the current end where it dead -ends into the Martin Marietta quarry berm; and <br />WHEREAS, the road in question has turned into a depository of trash and debris over the past several <br />months; and <br />WHEREAS, the portion (0.22 miles) of SR 1294 meets the standards by the Department of <br />Transportation and is being considered for abandonment from the State System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVEDL that the Lee County Board of Commissioners does hereby <br />approve the request from Martin Marietta Materials to abandon the 0.22 mile portion of SR 1294, Bruce <br />Coggins Road, as shown on the attached map. <br />Adopted this 2nd day of December 2013. <br />Chairman <br />ATTEST: Lee County Board of Commissioners <br />A byll .
