0 111 <br />BOOK 16 p 715 <br />MINUTES OF THE MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />IN ITS CAPACITY AS THE GOVERNING BODY <br />OF <br />LEE COUNTY WATER AND SEWER DISTRICT NO. 1 <br />MONDAY, DECEMBER 2, 1996 <br />A meeting of the governing body of the Lee County Water and Sewer District No. <br />I was hold in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest <br />J Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, immediately following the regular meeting of the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners held on said date. Commissioners present were Jimmie <br />M. Cox; F. Hubert Garner, Ervin Mansfield, Bertha L. Matthews; J. Douglas Moretz, <br />Nathan E. Paschal and Robert T. Reives. <br />Chairman Garner presided and Gaynell M. Beal, Clerk to the Board of <br />Commissioners, acted as Secretary of the meeting. <br />The Board considered the draft of the minutes of the Novemberl8, 1996, Lee <br />County Water and Sewer District No. 1 meeting. Commissioner Moretz moved to <br />approve the minutes as the official record of said meeting. Commissioner Matthews <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered extending the deadline for water sign-ups. Public Works <br />Director Kenny Cole told the Board the current sign-up deadline is set for January 1, <br />1997. He recommended extending the sign-up period to February 3, 1997. This <br />extension would allow enough time to complete a door-to-door survey by the Cooperative <br />Extension Service. Commissioner Moretz moved to extend the sign-up deadline to <br />February 3, 1997. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Garner, Mansfield, Matthews, Moretz, Paschal and Reives <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />
