♦~y~i $oa c 4 _ l MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR LEE COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA Monday, June 18, 1979 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened in the Commissioners Room, on the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina, on Monday, June 18, 1979, at 7 o'clock p. m. Those present were Commissioners Jack D. Funderburke, K. S. Harmon, Lila P. Nielsen, Clyde J. Rhyne and Gordon A. Wicker. The Chairman declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman K; S. Harmon presided and the following business was transacted: The meeting was opened by prayer given by K. R. Hoyle, the County Attorney. The minutes of the special meeting held on Thursday, May 31, 1979, were approved and ordered recorded. Commissioner Rhyne reported that he had received a petition from the United Pentecostal Church to add the road from their Church to the Cool Springs Road to the State system. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the following resolution be adopted with respect to the road from Cool Springs to the United Pentecostal Church site: WHEREAS, the attached petition has been filed with the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, requesting that the above described road, the location of which has been indicated in red on the attached map, be added to the Secondary Road System; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the above described road should be added to the Secondary Road System, if the road meets minimum standards and criteria established by the Division of Highways of the Department of Transportation and Highway Safety for the addition of roads to the System. NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Lee, that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to review the above described road, and to take over the road for main- tenance if it meets established standards and criteria.
