* <br /> Jr <br /> irIJ,( <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY, A HOUSE, <br /> LOCATED AT 192 TABITHA LANE <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee owns property located at 192 Tabitha Lane, PIN 9655- <br /> 20-2542-00, Lee County, North Carolina, as shown on a deed recorded in Deed Book 1546, Page <br /> 455, in the office of the Register of Deeds for Lee County, to which the record thereof reference <br /> is hereby made for more complete description; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the property was purchased from Richard and Angela Hearn, to secure <br /> property related to an economic development project, Project Forge, and to market the remaining <br /> portion of the property as a separate potential industrial site; and, <br /> WHEREAS, located on the property is a residential house that is surplus to the County's <br /> needs ; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the tax office valued the residence at $86,600 in 2019; and, <br /> WHEREAS, North Carolina General Statutes §§ 153A-176 and 160A-268 permit the <br /> County to sell personal property by sealed bids; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the County of Lee declares this property to be surplus to the County's <br /> needs; and, <br /> WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners authorizes staff to advertise the <br /> removal of this personal property and to open the sealed bids after at least seven days of <br /> advertisement; and, <br /> WHEREAS, once the bids are opened, staff will bring back to the Board of <br /> Commissioners for approval to the highest, responsive, responsible bidder. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners <br /> as follows: <br /> 1. The Lee County Board of Commissioners hereby declares the house, personal <br /> property, located at 192 Tabitha Lane as surplus to its needs. <br /> 2. The Lee County Board of Commissioners authorizes the sale of the property described <br /> above through the sealed bid procedure of North Carolina General Statute §160A-268. <br /> 3. The Board of Commissioners may, at any time, reject any and all offers. <br /> 4. The terms of the final sale are as follows: <br />
