nua, 17 PAGE 624 ® ) 0 O 1 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />APRIL 6, 1999 <br />J <br />The special meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State <br />of North Carolina, convened at 3:00 p.m. in the Commissioners' Room, 106 Hillcrest <br />Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present were W. Chad Adams, F. <br />Hubert Garner, Herbert A. Hincks, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, and John 1. <br />Sauls. Commissioner Robert T. Reives was absent but joined the meeting later. <br />Chairman Hincks presided and the following business was transacted. <br />Commissioner John Sauls delivered the invocation. <br />The Board considered additional agenda items. County Manager William <br />Cowan asked that the Board conduct a public hearing at the next meeting on April 19, <br />1999 to hear comments concerning the proposed Land Use Plan. Commissioner Adams <br />asked that the Board discuss holding a budget work session to discuss setting goals. <br />Commissioner Matthews asked that she be allowed to discuss the need for caution <br />lights at the intersections of St. Andrews and Lemon Springs Road, and Greenwood and <br />Edwards Roads. Commissioner Paschal asked that lie be allowed to give a report <br />concerning a recent meeting he had with the fire chief of the Deep River Volunteer Fire <br />Department. Commissioner Adams moved to approve the above additions to the <br />agenda. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Garner, Hincks, Matthews, Paschal, and Sauls <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Garner moved to approve the consent agenda, which consisted of <br />the following items: <br />Minutes of the March 22, 1999 regular meeting <br />
