0 BOOK GO PIGE 73 s <br />Chairman Hincks opened the advertised public hearing. <br />Economic Development Director Bob Heuts spoke in favor of the grant <br />application. <br />No one present spoke in opposition to the grant application. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />Commissioner Reives moved to approve the FY 2006-07 Community <br />Transportation Program Grant application. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board conducted the second public hearing advertised for this date and time <br />concerning economic development incentives for Challenge Printing located in <br />Broadway. Economic Development Director Bob Heuts explained the additional funding <br />request for Challenge Printing and stated the project had increased from a $2.2 million <br />project to a $6 million project. Mr. Heuts stated that Challenge Printing wished to build <br />a new 60,000 square foot facility in the Lee County Industrial Park in northern Lee <br />County. A total of $84,273 in incentives is being requested from Lee County. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing for Challenge Printing. <br />Economic Development Director Bob Heuts spoke in favor of approving <br />economic development incentives on behalf of the Economic Development Board. <br />Mr. Kirk Smith of 3108 Avents Ferry Road spoke in opposition. <br />Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing. <br />The Board conducted the third public hearing advertised for this date and time <br />concerning economic development incentives for System Plast located in the Jonesboro <br />area, which is an Italian owned business. Economic Development Director Bob Heuts <br />told the Board that System Plast has been in Lee County for eight years and wishes to <br />purchase a larger facility to expand their facility with another facility they recently <br />purchased in California. System Plast is looking at the shell building located on Wilson <br />Road as part of the $4 million project. Mr. Heuts stated that the City of Sanford will also <br />be asked to contribute incentives to the project since the facility is located within the city <br />limits. If approved, Lee County's share of the project will be $59,740. <br />Chairman Hincks opened the pubic hearing for System Plast. <br />Economic Development Director Bob Heuts spoke in favor of approving <br />economic development incentives on behalf of the Economic Development Board. <br />5 <br />
