All historical painted wall signs in the central Business District within the City of Sanford <br />are exempt from the requirements of this ordinance provided that the signs are restored to their <br />original condition and appearance. No enhancements as to illumination or animation shall be added <br />which were not original to the sign. A painted wall sign is considered historic if it predates 1975. <br />Property owners wishing to restore the historical painted wall sign must verify with the designated <br />City 1-listoric Preservation Staff Planner the original state of the painted wall sign through <br />photographic documentation or a discernable outline. No mixing of sign types within a iMu hiple Business Complex shall be permitted, except <br />that canopies/awnings containing no advertising copy, may be used in combination with wall <br />mounted signs." <br />• Add New Section 11.8.3.5 - "CANOPY/AWNING SIGNS AND WALL MOUNTED SIGNS <br />FOR MULTIPLE BUSINESS COMPLEXES." New section will read, "Lots with more than one <br />street frontage shall be allowed to erect one additional canopy/awning sign on the secondary street <br />frontage.
