BGOX 20 PAGE 679 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />MINUTES OF THE JOINT MEETING <br />OF THE <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />AND <br />CENTRAL CAROLINA COMMUNITY COLLEGE <br />BOARD OF TRUSTEES <br />NOVEMBER 2, 2005 <br />A joint meeting of the Lee County Board of Commissioners and members of the <br />Central Carolina Community College Board of Trustees was held at 4:30 p.m. on this <br />date in the Training Room of the Bell Building of the main campus of Central Carolina <br />Community College, 1105 Kelly Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Commissioners present <br />were W. Chad Adams, Robert H. Brown, Jerry M. Lemmond, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert <br />T. Reives, and Amy L. Stevens. Chairman Herbert A. Hincks was out of town and <br />unable to attend. <br />Mr. Bill Wilson, Chairman of the Central Carolina Community College Board of <br />Trustees welcomed everyone and thanked them for attending. <br />Vice Chairman Adams thanked the community college for the invitation and <br />stated that Chairman Hincks was unable to attend due to an out of town family vacation. <br />Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) President Dr. Matt Garrett <br />presented a power point presentation and update on CCCC status and needs, how the <br />college spends county funds, security and safety issues at the college, and how CCCC <br />compares to other colleges in the region. The county provided approximately $1.7 <br />million in funding to the college for FY 2005-06 for the operation and maintenance of its <br />four facilities which include the main campus on Kelly Drive, Jonesboro Center, EMT <br />Center on Tramway Road, and the newly constructed School of Telecommunications at <br />the Industrial Park. Dr. Garrett discussed new programs the college is considering in <br />the future which includes the Early College High School program and the Dental <br />Education program that will be housed at the W. B. Wicker School. The future of the <br />Jonesboro Center was discussed along with the hope that the college can grow and <br />expand in the near future. Dr. Garrett's presentation also included slides of repairs <br />needed at the main campus and Jonesboro Center which included broken tiles, broken <br />sidewalks, ruts in parking lots and driveways, broken and rusted windows, peeling paint, <br />needed restroom repairs, and security concerns. <br />
