0 eco; _i; F ,e5o <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Reives discussed the lack of women and minorities on some <br />boards and commissions. He stressed the importance of having a diverse selection of <br />individuals on boards and commissions. Some discussion followed, but no action was <br />taken. <br />The Board considered the Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) for FY 2005-2010. <br />County Manager David Smitherman and Finance Director Lisa Minter discussed revised <br />CIP documents that were distributed to replace the ones supplied in the agenda package. <br />Mr. Smitherman stated that the revised sheets showed what is included in the current <br />budget for proposed projects. After some discussion, Commissioner Brown moved to <br />approve the revised Capital Improvements Plan (CIP) for FY 2005-2010 as presented by <br />the County Manager. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown, Hineks, Lemmond, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution endorsed by the North Carolina Association of <br />County Commissioners regarding increasing the state cigarette tax to support county <br />Medicaid relief. Following discussion, Commissioner Adams moved to approve a <br />resolution regarding increasing the state cigarette tax to support county Medicaid relief. <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Ave: Lemmond and Stevens <br />Nay: Adams, Brown.
