After some <br />discussion, the Board agreed to hold one meeting in July on Monday, July 25, 2005, at <br />3:00 p.m., and Monday, August 15, 2005, at 3:00 p.m. <br />At this time the Board took a short recess. <br />Upon returning from recess with all members present, Commissioner Paschal <br />joined the meeting via telephone from UNC Hospital, Chapel Hill. <br />The Board considered appointments to the Lee County Criminal Justice <br />Partnership Advisory Board. Commissioner Reives moved that the following individuals <br />be appointed to serve on the above mentioned board per General Statute 143B-273.10: <br />Lee County District Court Judge Jimmy Love, Jr. <br />Chief Deputy Kevin Bryant, Lee County Sheriffs Office <br />Police Chief Ronnie Yarborough, Sanford Police Department <br />George Whitaker, Attorney <br />Marcie Tragefer, Assistant District Attorney <br />Charles Taylor, Static Controls, member of the business community <br />Commissioner Chad Adams <br />County Manager David Smitherman <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Adams stated that the remainder of the appointments, per General <br />Statute, would be appointed at the June 20, 2005 meeting. <br />The Board considered an appointment to the Lee County Juvenile Crime <br />Prevention Council. Youth Services Director Brenda Potts had received an application <br />from Ms. Eva Brown to serve on this council. Commissioner Reives moved to approve <br />the appointment of Ms. Eva Brown to the Lee County Juvenile Crime Prevention <br />Council. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered annual appointments to various board and commissions. <br />The following individuals were nominated by various Commissioners and approved to <br />serve for the terms shown: <br />8 <br />
