6"" 0x3 <br />Chairman Parks read the resolution that was approved by Commissioner Frazier and <br />unanimously adopted for Deputy Julian Powers who was killed in the line of duty in 1959, a copy of which <br />is attached to these Minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. The Resolution was presented <br />to family members in attendance. <br />The Board considered additions /changes to the Agenda. With no changes made, Commissioner <br />Womack moved to approve the Agenda as presented. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />items: <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Womack moved to approve the Consent Agenda which consisted of the following <br />• Minutes from the June 3 and June 17, 2013 closed session meetings, <br />• Minutes from the June 17, 2013 regular meeting, <br />• Minutes from the June 24, 2013 recessed meeting, <br />• Minutes from the June 25, 2013 Deep River Town Hall Community meeting, <br />• Minutes from the June 26, 2013 McSwain Center Town Hall Community meeting, <br />• Minutes from the June 27, 2013 Broadway Town Hall Community meeting, <br />• Minutes from the July 2, 2013 special called meeting, <br />• Tax Releases and Refunds for June 2013 (copy attached), and <br />• Proclamation Recognizing July as Parks and Recreation Month (copy attached). <br />Upon a vote, the results were as follows; <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />No one signed up to speak during the Public Comments section of the meeting. <br />The Board considered revised Fees & Charges for Parks and Recreation. Parks and Recreation <br />Director John Payne stated the Parks and Recreation Commission, at their June 24th meeting, approved <br />revised Fees & Charges that reflects changes that were discussed during budget work sessions with the <br />Commissioners prior to adoption of the FY 2013 -14 Budget. Mr. Payne stated Commissioners requested <br />that adult sports team fees for non -Lee County resident teams be doubled and that non -Lee County <br />resident individual program fees and facility rental fees be reflective of general fund appropriations to <br />parks and recreation. Staff, along with the Finance Department, considered the department's total budget <br />less revenues from Fees & Charges and arrived at a per capita general fund contribution just below $15. <br />The revised schedule reflects this amount for non - resident individual program fees and non - resident <br />rental fees. Commissioners had also requested that adult teams be surveyed to identify concerns and <br />issues that affect participation. Mr. Payne stated that at this time only 4 responses have been received. <br />Staff will continue to pursue more input to hopefully improve participation in these sports programs. Staff <br />has also reviewed participation in all programs to try to determine the extent of non -Lee County resident <br />participation. After discussion, Commissioner Womack thanked Mr. Payne and his staff for reviewing the <br />fees and moved to approve the revised Schedule of Fees and Charges for Parks and Recreation as <br />2 <br />
