OCI1 <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />106 HILLCREST DRIVE <br />SANFORD, NORTH CAROLINA 27330 <br />JULY 15, 2013 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, <br />convened at 6 p.m., in the Commissioners' Room, First Floor, Lee County Government Center, 106 <br />Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina, on said date. Commissioners present were Amy M. Dalrymple, <br />Dr. Ricky D. Frazier, Dr. Andre Knecht, Charles T. Parks, Robert T. Reives, Kirk D. Smith, and James K. <br />Womack. <br />Keven Ramirez from the Lee County Young Commissioners Leadership Program called the <br />meeting to order. <br />Sarah Womack from the Lee County Young Commissioners Leadership Program delivered the <br />invocation. <br />Jamie Guillergan from the Lee County Young Commissioners Leadership Program led the pledge <br />of allegiance. <br />At this time 4 -H Agent Bill Stone introduced participants in the 2 -week Lee County "Young <br />Commissioners" Leadership Program. The program is an intensive two -week youth leadership program <br />comprised of twelve rising 7 graders from Lee County. The program kicked off Monday, July 8th <br />and will run through Friday, July 19th. During the two -week period, under the Commissioner's mentorship, <br />participants will gain valuable leadership skills through hands -on workshops and training while also <br />developing a greater awareness and understanding of local government and relevant issues facing their <br />community. Kathleen Perry gave an overview of Week 1 and Jarkayla Jackson gave an overview of what <br />will be learned during Week 2 of the program. Mr. Stone introduced participants and a group picture was <br />made, along with County Commissioners. <br />Commissioner Womack moved to rearrange the Agenda by moving the Resolution honoring a <br />fallen Lee County Deputy from the end of the Agenda to the beginning of the Agenda. Upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Dalrymple, Frazier, Knecht, Parks, Reives, Smith, and Womack <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />
