C. 27330 <br />Telephone 776-4256 <br />By this letter, Lee County of North Carolina would like to request <br />authorization to proceed at its'own risk with-construction of the Colon-- <br />Osgood-GKN waterline-extension project.- It is urgent-that construction <br />begin as soon as possible so that Lee.County can provide water-service <br />and fire protection to the Guest-Keen-Nettlefold plant--.now under con- <br />struction.. The.$32 million automotive parts manufacturing facility will <br />be completed.and in operation in October, 1979.• <br />At the time Go decided-to locate in Lee County, it was.agreed <br />that adequate water service would be provided. Due to unavoidable <br />delays in securing project funding, the County will be unable to meet <br />the October schedule; however, should this request be granted, service <br />could be provided by January of 1980.
