• 31it~P g ah(ri~~ <br />The request from the Triangle J Council of Governments that it be <br />designated as the Economic Development District for this area was read to the <br />Board. Commissioner Gordon Wicker moved that the request be rejected. Comm- <br />issioner Rhyne seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />A written request of Mr. Shelton Lee Crutchfield for refund in the <br />amount of $50. 67 for taxes on a Pontiac automobile which had been listed both to <br />Mr. Crutchfield and Autovest, Inc., was presented to the Board. Mr. James L. <br />Clark, the Tax Supervisor, had verified that such property was in fact double <br />listed and taxes paid by both parties. Upon motion of Commissioner Funderburke, <br />seconded by Commissioner Rhyne, the Tax Collector-was authorized and directed <br />to refund to Mr. Crutchfield, the sum of $50. 67, in keeping with his written request. <br />The motion was adopted by a unanimous vote. <br />The request of the Sanford-Lee County Airport Commission for <br />approval of a transfer of $1, 100.00 in the Airport Commission Budget from buildings <br />and grounds to Capital Outlay in order to complete the drainage project on the south- <br />west end of the runway, was presented to the Board. Commissioner Rhyne moved <br />that the transfer be approved. Commissioner Funderburke seconded the motion and <br />upon a vote, Commissioners, Funderburke, Nielsen, Rhyne, Wicker and Harmon <br />voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />The Board noted the receipt of material pertaining to the rehabilitation <br />of old buildings which have been nominated for listing in the National Register of <br />Historical Places. <br />The Chairman announced that a public meeting would be held in the <br />Lee County District Courtroom on Tuesday, February 20, 1979, at 7:30 o'clock, <br />p. m., by the Department of Transportation. <br />i <br />The Chairman read a letter from the Council on Aging, advising the <br />Board that a religious group wanted to rent the Senior Citizens facility for religious <br />services on Sunday. Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker moved that the request be <br />denied. Commissioner Nielsen seconded the motion and upon a vote it was unani- <br />mously adopted. <br />Mrs. Nielsen reported on behalf of the Department of Social <br />Services, a request to transfer the sum of $11140. 00 from supplies to equipment <br />within their budget in order that the Department might purchase a postage meter. <br />Commissioner Nielsen moved that the transfer be approved. Commissioner Fun- <br />derburke seconded the motion and upon a vote, Commissioners Funderburke, <br />Nielsen, Rhyne, Wicker and Harmon voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />Commissioner Nielsen reported another request authorizing the <br />transfer of funds from the IV-D Program to Professional Services, Legal, but <br />no action was taken on this request. <br />Commissioner Gordon A. Wicker reported that he had received a <br />request for roofing repairs at the Recreation Building on McIver Street (old Armory <br />Building) and that he would investigate the matter and report back to the Board. <br />Commissioner (Gordon A. Wicker moved that the Board adopt a <br />Resolution honoring Hezekiah Dobson, Jr., for his services as District Health <br />Sanitarian and as Sanitarian Supervisor. A copy of the Resolution is attached to <br />the minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. Commissioner Rhyne second- <br />ed the motion and upon a vote it was unanimously adopted. <br />
