ED <br />KKK tiu FICE 354 <br />J~1g <br />e AtV <br />-af <br />014e 3-Gee TountLi Nourd of (nontntissioners <br />Resolution <br />WHEREAS, the 10`I' annual Positive Direction for Youth conference was held on April <br />8-9, 2005, at the Raleigh Civic and Convention Center with over 9,100 participants; and <br />WHEREAS, youngsters and parents from North Carolina, New Jersey, Philadelphia, <br />Baltimore, South Carolina, and Florida attended the two-day event that focused on creating a <br />positive opportunity for kids and included fun and spirited events; and <br />WHEREAS, Bishop Charles Mellette founded the Christian Provision Ministries church <br />in Sanford where he held the first conference with 150 participants ten-years ago; and <br />iFR l <br />WHEREAS. the event is focused on helping kids with choice management, conflict <br />resolution, problem solving, managing goals, and learning how to turn dreams into reality; and <br />WHEREAS, due to the demand for the conference it has been expanded into a tour that <br />will be held in Jacksonville, Florida, and Philadelphia in May and June. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE LEE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS would <br />like to recognize Bishop Charles Mellette for an outstanding job of helping youth face the many <br />challenges they encounter and to do the best they can by setting high goals and keeping God first <br />in their lives. <br />Adopted this 2"" day of May 2005 and presented to Bishop Charles Mellette in <br />recognition for his dedication and outstanding work with youth and the church. <br />Herbert A.
