Mr. Hanes asked that the Board allow the Health <br />Department to proceed with the program and contact employers to begin the contract <br />process. After some discussion, Commissioner Reives moved for Mr. Hanes to move <br />forward with marketing and the process for the Lee Primary Care program. Upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown. Hincks, Lemmond, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request from the Health Department for $76,000 of <br />additional funding to pay for jail health services. Health Director Mike Hanes told Board <br />members that $125,000 was spent last year for jail health services for inmates at Central <br />Carolina Hospital. It is anticipated that $150,000 will be needed to fund the program for <br />the entire FY 2004-05, of which only $75,000 was budgeted. Mr. Hanes stated that he <br />would meet with representatives from the Sheriffs Department to discuss who gives <br />authority on whom/when inmates need to go to the doctor/hospital. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Stevens moved to approve additional funding of $76,000 to <br />the Health Department for jail health services of inmates.
