Johnston-Lee-Harnett Community Action $24,800.00 <br />Pat-Em Construction (formerly Locklear Const.) $29,850.00 <br />Myles Building and Construction $25,979.00 <br />Community Development staff and CMR Service Program Administrators recommended <br />that the bid be awarded to Johnston-Lee-l-larnett Community Action for $24,800.00. <br />Commissioner Stevens moved to approve the low bid of $24,800.00 from Johnston-Lee- <br />Harnett Community Action and a Rehabilitation Work Contract for Jackie Thomas of <br />401 Forest Avenue, Broadway, a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown, Hincks, Lemmond, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a draft Resolution of Financial Policies for Lee County. At <br />the Board of Commissioners Planning Retreat in February, Chairman appointed <br />Commissioner's Adams and Reives to work with the County Manager and Finance <br />Director to develop a set of financial policies for the County. Finance Director Lisa <br />Minter outlined the proposed policy as drafted by the committee. After some discussion, <br />and recommended changes, Chairman Hincks moved to approve the Resolution of <br />Financial Policies for Lee County as amended, a copy of which is attached to these <br />minutes and by this reference made a part hereof. His motion also included that the <br />revised amendment be shared with Commissioners for review. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown, Hincks, Lemmond, Reives, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Pascal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board heard a presentation from Health Director Mike Hanes concerning the <br />Lee Primary Care program. Mr. Hanes told the Board that Lee Primary Care is a medical <br />care program established by the Lee County Public Health Department with assistance <br />from a grant received from the State of North Carolina. The program will offer one-of-a- <br />kind medical packages to employers in Lee County who do not or cannot afford to offer <br />their employees health benefits, which include approximately 4,000 uninsured workers at <br />this time. The program will provide workers medical cost much less than typical <br />insurance rates. Mr. Hanes outlined some of the following benefits for the employer: <br />• The employer pays no more than $25 a month/$300 annually <br />per employee <br />4 <br />
