0 0
uio 20 NCE 331
White Hill Road (one mile south of the U.S. 41 intersection) from Residential
Agricultural district to Highway Commercial district.
Chairman I-Iincks opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date
and time.
Craig Dodson of 1019 White Hill Road spoke in favor of the rezoning petition.
No one present spoke in opposition to the rezoning petition.
Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing.
Mr. Downey outlined the second rezoning petition by Lee Brick and Tile
Company to rezone approximately 155.52 acres of land at the end of Northview Drive,
west of Hawkins Avenue, from Light Industrial district to Heavy Industrial district.
Chairman Hincks opened the public hearing that had been advertised for this date
and time.
Lee Brick and Tile representatives John Burns and J. R. Holton spoke in favor of
the rezoning petition and answered questions from Board members.
No one present spoke in opposition to the rezoning petition.
Chairman Hincks closed the public hearing.
It was noted that the Planning Board will hear the above two (2) rezoning requests
at their April 18, 2005 meeting: therefore no action was taken on either request at this
time.
The Board considered a cell phone policy. MIS Director Lesa Price told the
Board that she had conducted an extensive study of the cell phone usage for Lee County
employees. She stated that the study concluded that Lee County should be able to offer
better cell phone benefits to employees in certain positions. Currently there is no policy
in place for the thirty-six (36) employees that have County cell phone plans.
Additionally, there are fifty (50) other employees who occupy positions that justify
consideration for a mobile phone benefit. After much discussion, Commissioner Brown
moved to approve Mrs. Price's recommendation to allow identified employees to
purchase a county identified plan, place the plan in their name, be responsible for the
plan, and receive a fixed amount of reimbursement monthly. Upon a vote, the results
were as follows:
Aye: Adams, Brown, Hincks, Lemmond, Reives, and Stevens
Nay: None
Absent: Paschal
4
