Boos 9 to 06 <br /> <br />Abortion, add $4, 600. 00 <br />Day Care Equipment and Supplies, $23, 693. 15 <br />The request stated that the request was for bookkeeping purposes requiring no <br />County funds as the abortion expenditure is reimbursed 100% from State funds <br />and the Day Care Equipment and Supplies expenditure is reimbursed 100% from <br />Federal funds. Commissioner Rhyne moved that the budget amendments be <br />approved. There was no second and the Chair ruled that the motion died for the <br />lack of a second. Commissioner Nielsen moved that the budget amendment per- <br />taining to Day Care Equipment and Supplies be approved. Commissioner Funder- <br />burke seconded the motion and upon a roll call vote, Commissioners Funderburke, <br />Nielsen, Rhyne, Wicker and Harmon voted for it and no one voted against it. <br />The requirement for adding maternity care coverage to the Health <br />Insurance Program was discussed. <br />The Board next discussed the raises to be provided for County <br />employees and discussed both across the Board cost of living increase and a <br />flat amount with a sliding percentage. No formal action was taken at this time. <br />The Chairman reminded the Board of the joint meeting with the <br />Harnett County Commissioners on Wednesday afternoon, April 4, 1979, at 6:30 <br />o'clock p. m., in the Pine Burr Room, Marshbanks Hall, Buies Creek, North <br />Carolina. <br />The letter of Mr. David G. Hunscher, County Manager of Gaston <br />County to the Chairman, dated March 30, 1979, pertaining to legislation to amend <br />the General Statutes concerning appeals of public service companies, was read to <br />the Board. <br />A letter concerning wrecker service legislation, was read to the <br />Board. <br />The letter of Senator Willis P. Whichard, concerning a special <br />meeting on April 5, 1979, to enable members of the Senate to hear the concerns <br />of local government officials, was read to the Board. <br />The Chairman noted that a complaint had been received concerning <br />the ambulance service. <br />Upon motion made, seconded and unanimously adopted, the meeting <br />was adjourned until 7 o'clock p. m., the same day (April 2, 1979), in the District <br />Courtroom, Lee County Courthouse, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />CHAIRMAN <br />
