u of 20 FacF 315 <br />COOPERATIVE EQUIPMENT AGREEMENT <br />NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT & NATURAL RESOURCES <br />DIVISION OF FOREST RESOURCES <br />AND <br />RURAL FIRE DEPARTMENTS <br />STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />COUNTY OF <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this day of , <br />20 , by and between the North Carolina Department of Environment & Natural Resources, <br />an Agency of the State of North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as the DEPARTMENT, and the <br />VFD. <br />Hereinafter referred to as COOPERATOR. <br />WITNESSETH: <br />WHEREAS, it is of vital importance to the State of North Carolina to protect and develop its forest <br />land resources; and <br />WHEREAS, the DEPARTMENT is charged by State Law to prevent, control, and suppress wildfires <br />on all State and private lands; and <br />WHEREAS; the COOPERATOR is actively engaged in the prevention and suppression of all fires <br />in, and adjacent to, suburban areas; and <br />WHEREAS; the COOPERATOR can more adequately carry out this function if additional <br />equipment is available: <br />NOW THEREFORE, for and in consideration of the mutual benefits to each party hereinafter <br />appearing below, both parties agree as follows: <br />The DEPARTMENT through the Division of Forest Resources Aerees: <br />(1) To make available the equipment described herein according to the <br />terms set forth in this agreement, <br />(2) That all accessories, tools, equipment which are added to the equipment solely by <br />the COOPERATOR will remain with the COOPERATOR and the <br />COOPERATOR may remove same, prior to returning the equipment to the <br />DEPARTMENT. <br />The COOPERATOR Agrees: <br />(1) To convert said vehicle to a viable fire suppression unit, to meet <br />minimum standards as provided by the DEPARTMENT and to paint <br />equipment to match other vehicles owned, and have it in operating <br />condition within NINE (9) MONTHS AFTER VEHICLE PICK-UP- <br />(2) To comply with NFPA 1901 - Standard for Fire Apparatus and NFPA 1906 - <br />Standard for Wild land Fire Apparatus as applicable for water lank construction <br />or modification on said equipment, <br />
