5JU\ 2-0 WE An <br />Commissioner Lemmond stated that he voted against the motion to give the <br />Historical Association money because he would have liked to have seen how much <br />money was raised in fund raising activities before the Historical Association asked for <br />assistance. lie also stated that if the Association had told the Commissioners they were <br />in financial problems prior to being completely out of funds he might have been able to <br />support their request. <br />Chairman Hincks moved that the County Manger draft a letter to the City <br />Manager detailing action taken on the one-time allocation to the Railroad I-louse <br />Historical Association and ask City Council to consider an allocation at their next <br />meeting. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown. Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a resolution to appoint the Board of Equalization and <br />Review. County Attorney K. R. Hoyle presented to the Board two (2) resolutions for <br />consideration. After some discussion, Chairman Hincks moved to approve the resolution <br />designating individuals for terns. a copy of which is attached to these minutes and by this <br />reference made a part hereof. Upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered bids for grading of the Tramway Road Park. County <br />Manager David Smitherman told the Board that one bid had been received from Sanford <br />Contractors at a cost of $295,650.00. After negotiations, the amount was reduced to <br />$288,060. After still further negotiations, Sanford Contractors has offered an in-kind <br />donation of $88,060 for the opportunity to name the baseball complex in honor of their <br />founder, Norman T. Oldham. Therefore. the Board was asked to award the grading <br />contract for Tramway Road Park to Sanford Contractors, Inc. in the amount of $200,000. <br />Commissioner Adams moved to approve the bid from Sanford Contractors, Inc. in the <br />amount of $200,000 for grading of the Tramway Road Park. Upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Adams, Brown, Hincks, Lemmond, Paschal, and Stevens <br />Nay: None <br />Absent: Reives <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />7 <br />
