BOOK Pdq W <br />Mrs, Beatrice Fields, Finance Officer, appeared before the Board <br />and discussed using one depository for all general fund monies, Commissioner <br />Rhyne moved that the Finance Officer be authorized to solicit proposals from all <br />local banks as to the terms and basis on which they will act as depository for <br />Lee County's general fund monies and further that she be empowered to select <br />and accept the proposal which is most advantageous to the County, Commissioner <br />Funderburke seconded the motion and upon a vote, it was unanimously adopted. <br />There was a general discussion about highway priorities by the <br />members of the Board, <br />The Board noted the receipt of a letter from Mr, Sid Taylor, Moore <br />County Administrator concerning support for the Cameron Rural Fire Department. <br />The Board instructed that the Finance Officer disburse the appropriation made <br />for this purpose and so inform Mr. Taylor. <br />The Board discussed naming a person to serve on the Central <br />Business District Committee but took no formal action at this meeting, <br />The Board was advised of a vacancy on the Board of Directors of <br />the Johnston-Lee Community Action Program and by unanimous action, the Board <br />named Mrs. Lessie Monroe Smith to a regular term to be effective as of June <br />30, 1979. <br />Commissioner Rhyne brought up for discussion, the naming of the <br />new Library building and upon motion of Commissioner Wicker, seconded by <br />Commissioner Funderburke, whichMotion was unanimously adopted upon a vote, <br />it was resolved to refer this matter to the Board of Trustees of the Lee County <br />Library and with directions to that Board to submit their recommendation to this <br />Board for action. <br />The Chairman reported to the Board that correspondence had been <br />received from the N. C. Department of Human Resources' which enclosed a copy <br />of a report from HEW stating that the Federal Government should recover <br />$831, 236. 00, if the local hospital is leased to AMI. Since this sum would have toy <br />be paid by AMI under its agreement with Lee County, it was directed that a copy <br />of the letter be sent to AMI at its Atlanta office. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, the <br />meeting was adjourned sine die. <br />ATTE T: <br />KENNETH R.
