0 BOOK 21 PAGE 361 <br />Register of Historic Places, the North Carolina State Historic Preservation Office, <br />and the Office of State Archaeology. <br />The Consultant shall record the locations of roads and other archaeological <br />features with Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment and shall display the <br />results on maps and aerial photographs generated by the Sanford-Lee County <br />Geographic Information System office. All measures and dimensions shall <br />conform to the metric system; English equivalents may be used, at the <br />Consultant's discretion, for purposes of recording historic archaeological <br />resources. <br />The Consultant shall prepare a final report of the investigations, including <br />background information addressing the role of transportation in the history of the <br />industrial and agricultural development of the Deep River, maps showing the <br />locations of transportation features, descriptions of each feature, and <br />assessments of the historical significance of individual transportation features. <br />C. CONSULTANT PERSONNEL: <br />The Consultant identifies Kenneth W. Robinson, having met the Secretary of the <br />Interior's Professional Qualification Standards, as the Principal Investigator who <br />will have primary responsibility for conducting and supervising the project and <br />reviewing all project products. The Consultant shall obtain prior written approval <br />of the Grantee and the North Carolina Office of Archives and History (OAH) prior <br />to changing the person who is the Principle Investigator or assigning additional <br />persons, subcontractors, employees, or assistants to carry out any portion of the <br />work of this contract. The Consultant shall ensure that any personnel employed <br />as field or laboratory supervisors must meet the Professional Qualifications <br />Standards set forth by the Secretary of the Interior, in Appendix A to 36 CFR 61. <br />In the event any person assigned any duties under this Contract is not approved <br />by both the Grantee and the OAH, the Contract shall be terminated. <br />D. TIME SCHEDULE: <br />This Contract shall be effective on the date of signing and shall terminate on July <br />31, 2007. The Consultant agrees to adhere to the attached Time-Product- <br />Payment Schedule (Attachment C) throughout the course of the project. <br />E. PROJECT BUDGET FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES: <br />The total amount to be paid by the Grantee to the Consultant under this Contract <br />shall not exceed $42,330.00, including travel, mapping, photography, and all <br />other expenses. <br />It is understood that this is a Contract for the professional services of the <br />Consultant, that the Consultant is not an employee of the Grantee or the North <br />Carolina Office of Archives and History, and that payment for services constitutes <br />a fee that excludes all employment taxes and related benefits. The Grantee will <br />be responsible for providing appropriate IRS income statements to the <br />Consultant. <br />2 <br />
