BDDK 21 P.GE G5c <br />LEE COUNTY <br />Committed Today for a Better Tomorrow <br />RESOLUTION <br />Honoring the Grand Opening <br />Of the W. B. Wicker Business Campus <br />WHEREAS, the grand opening celebration of the W. B. Wicker Business Campus has <br />been set for Friday, November 3, 2006, at 900 South Vance Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, at 3:00 o'clock p.m., and <br />WHEREAS, Brick Capital Community Development Corporation under the leadership of <br />Ms. Kate Rumely, its President, has taken an abandoned school building and through <br />skillful negotiations secured the collaborative efforts of private and public entities, both in <br />financing and occupancy, to make the historic structure a showplace; and <br />WHEREAS, the Board of Commissioners desires to express its appreciation to the <br />parties who joined with them in funding the project and to the tenants who will occupy <br />the premises and provide programs and services to the community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Lee County Board of Commissioners as <br />follows: <br />Section 1. The Board congratulates the directors, officers, and staff of Brick <br />Capital Community Development Corporation for its vision of what could be done <br />with the W. B. Wicker School property and the dedication and persistence of its <br />President to accomplish that goal. <br />Section 2. The Board acknowledges and thanks the Federal Government, <br />the State of North Carolina, the City of Sanford, and the FHL Bank Atlanta, a <br />Federal Home Loan Bank, for joining with Lee County in funding this project. <br />Section 3. The Board extends its best wishes to the following parties for <br />locating their enterprises in the W. B. Wicker Business Campus and hopes they <br />have a long and profitable stay, to wit: <br />(a) Lee County Health Department's Central Carolina Dental Clinic, <br />(b) Central Carolina Community College's Dental Hygienist Program, <br />(c) Excel Tutoring and Personal Development; and <br />(d) Academic Childcare Enrichmen enter <br />Robert T. Reives V- <br />Lee County Commissioner <br />Class of 1966 <br />Adopted this 30th day of October 2006. <br />
